YouTube 3rd Most Visited Social Networking Site in the UK
After Google and Facebook, YouTube is the next biggest social networking site in the UK. The video streaming site accounts for one in five visits from UK’s Internet users for social networking sites. Twelve months ago, the numbers showed one in six visits.

While Facebook still dominates the social networking market with more than half of the visits, YouTube also has been showing considerable improvements. Although it has a long way to catch up with Facebook, YouTube has successfully passed Hotmail in December. Experts state that YouTube has shown massive growth in the last three years where it climbed from the eighth spot up to the third.
Back in February, Google made attempted to transform YouTube’s massive number of viewers in to profits. The plan involved creating 20 celebrity channels for well established celebrities and uploading high quality, original content in to them. According to Google, the online shows will attract millions of viewers as well as advertising partners to cover the investment and to turn a substantial profit.
YouTube is considered by experts to be the fastest growing social network. The video streaming giant has held the top position in the fastest growing category for the second month in a row.
At the moment, YouTube is planning to launch a new service to screen the latest blockbusters right after they have been released on DVD. This movie on demand service will charge viewers to screen the movies and is expected to bring in a massive profit.
There is no doubt to the popularity rise of YouTube as just a few days ago, a record making 72 million live streams were announced for the Royal Wedding. The star studded event was broadcast to over 180 countries. According to experts and users, YouTube has nowhere other than up to go and it is still at its early stages where the world will get to see what they have to offer in the near future.
